Completing a DiSC® module allowed me to articulate some of the issues I was facing as I was starting a new position in a large company. This experience better prepared me by being able, with Barbara's help, to define up-front in a more objective manner some of the issues and challenges that my new work environment presented. I discovered how to modify my approach to certain clients to gain credibility more quickly. And, with a particular work relationship, I was able to recognize that what I thought was someone not liking me was just a difference in style. I was able to change my expectations that she should be more like me, and slowly allow her to get to know me. I definitely have made smarter decisions and it more than likely has saved me some anguish as I better understood the playing field. -- Investments executive, financial services industry ... Most importantly, Barbara helped me to be focused beyond the day-to-day. I have been lifted above the fray. I have stepped out of the way and my management team has stepped up. I never would have made the shift if Barbara hadn’t helped me maintain that focus. I am feeling strangely liberated, as I am able to distinguish more the difference between providing my managers support and fostering dependence. The decision tools we created to help me choose when and when not to get involved and what communication media to use will serve me well as reminders if I should falter along the way. -- IT executive, financial services industry My experience with Barbara has been very beneficial. Barbara has a wealth of knowledge, experience and resources to move me forward to accomplish my goals. She always keeps me on track and finds different approaches to address my issues. -- CEO, metal industry Barbara is a wonderful facilitator. In our sessions with successful women business owners, Barbara conveys a calm, non-threatening manner that puts individuals at ease immediately. While she appears non-intrusive, however, she can really ask the tough questions and provoke thinking ... thereby inviting openness, change and modification to behavior. Barbara is able to think on her feet and work successfully with a variety of individuals spanning various genders and ages. -- Investments executive, financial services industry Dialogue and conversation (a kind of polylogue) are the most important methods of learning and growth in consciousness. Your method (sort of like the method of contract bridge) works well—it seems to combine dialogue and brainstorming. -- University Professor I was fascinated by the ideas that came up that I would never have thought of. It was mentally refreshing. The environment was not my normal environment. I thought I could predict the flow of the conversation. Instead, the process unfolded in a rather non-linear way, and it took me to unexpected insights. I became aware of how focused I’ve gotten on my own little world. I would definitely do it again. -- Principal, consulting industry The DiSC Indra experience was wonderful... albeit, scary. I highly recommend this process for individuals who are considering forming a business or personal partnership, so if there are serious disconnects, they are identified prior to the commitment. So, because I was already committed to this partnership ... what if a red flag arose? However, I was one of the lucky ones... we are fairly well suited. In our case, the process served to highlight some of the areas and personal characteristics that we already knew about each other.... which is always good. And, the exercise went further. Barbara facilitated a forum for discussion and a communication platform of which most partners can never do enough. We took the opportunity to review some of our strengths and weaknesses as partners, and as individuals, and to discuss strategies for the future. I whole-heartedly believe that this type of experience is really important, not only before forming a partnership, but at various intervals during a relationship. -- Mortgage executive, financial services industry
